NITI Aayog Additional secy addresses a conference on Welding and Cutting Technologies in New Delhi

Additional Secretary of NITI Aayog Rajiv Singh Thakur today emphasised the need for greater coordination between the Centre and states to accelerate growth at the regional level.

Addressing a conference on Welding and Cutting Technologies in New Delhi, Mr Thakur stated that collaborative platforms and policy support from NITI Aayog will continue to act as a catalyst in driving industrial growth across states.

Highlighting emerging trends, he noted that while South and Western India have traditionally led the manufacturing sector, states like Uttar Pradesh, along with regions such as Delhi NCR and Haryana, are now witnessing rapid industrial expansion.

Mr Thakur underlined the importance of supportive government policies, regulatory ease, and targeted schemes to sustain this momentum.

He also pointed out that despite initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive scheme and Make in India, more efforts are needed in areas like research and development.
