NIPER signs MoU with private pharmaceutical company to advance pharmaceutical education

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private pharmaceutical company in New Delhi. The Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers informed that the MoU will advance pharmaceutical education and research in the country.

On the occasion, Cohort 2 of Alliance for Medicinal Research, Innovation, Translation and Value Acceleration (AMRITVA), was also launched. The AMRITVA initiative aims to translate academic and institutional pharmaceutical research into entrepreneurial and market-orientated initiatives, strengthening the country’s pharmaceutical innovation ecosystem.

The MoU was signed in the presence of the Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Manoj Joshi, in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Joshi emphasised the role of collaborative partnerships between academia and industry in strengthening the research-to-market pipeline. The Secretary added that such initiatives are critical for advancing domestic innovation capabilities, encouraging entrepreneurship, and ensuring wider access to cost-effective healthcare solutions.
