The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali today signed an agreement with Novartis Healthcare Private Limited in New Delhi, to strengthen the research and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector. The agreement was signed in the presence of Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Manoj Joshi. The collaboration aims to foster closer academia-industry linkages and promote innovation-driven research.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Joshi described the initiative as a positive step and said that expanding such efforts will enhance the relevance and impact of research in line with industry needs. He emphasized the importance of moving beyond pilot stages and noted that research outcomes are aligned with practical industry requirements, thereby strengthening the overall effectiveness of academia-industry collaboration.
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that the initiative is aligned with the vision of the Department of Pharmaceuticals to build strong industry-academia partnerships. It added that the move is expected to enhance research capabilities, support innovation, and contribute to advancements in healthcare in the country.
