Nine Maoists surrender in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district

In a significant development in Maharashtra’s anti-Naxal operations, nine Naxalites carrying a combined bounty of 30 lakh rupees surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police yesterday.

All nine surrendered cadres were reportedly associated with the Indravati Regional Committee and the National Park Regional Committee operating in Chhattisgarh.

The Gadchiroli Police welcomed them into the mainstream by handing over copies of the Constitution of India.

Earlier, 33 Maoists also surrendered in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh yesterday, including 17 women Maoists.
