The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the District Magistrate and the Commissioner of Police of Uttar Pradesh over the reported death of four labourers and injuries to several others at Gautam Budh Nagar. Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports, the commission has sought a detailed report within two weeks. The media report said that the building where the labourers were working collapsed from bottom to top within seconds as the shuttering for the third floor was being removed. It added that the building was being constructed without any permission. The Commission has observed that if the contents of the news report are true, it raises serious issues of violation of human rights.
