The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation and Superintendent of Police of Tiruchirappalli due to the reported death of two sanitation workers in Tiruchirappalli of Tamil Nadu. The commission has asked for a detailed report on the matter within two weeks. NHRC has taken suo motu cognisance of the media report. The reports mentioned that both workers died on the 22nd of this month while working on a newly constructed underground drainage pipeline.
