The National Highways Authority of India, NHAI, has announced immediate and decisive action following the failure of a Reinforced Soil Wall during the National Highway works at Mylakkadu, in Kerala, recently.
As part of the response, NHAI has suspended the Concessionaire, M/s Shivalaya, and the Independent Engineer, M/s Feedback Satra JV, from future project bids. Both entities have been issued show cause notices and imposed monetary penalties.
A high-level Expert Committee has already visited the site, and NHAI has engaged 18 geotechnical agencies to conduct intensive soil testing at 378 locations along NH 66 in Kerala.
NHAI reiterated its commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and infrastructure quality, with further safety audits and remedial actions planned.
