NHAI sets two Guinness World Records for longest & highest bituminous concrete laying

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved two Guinness World Records for laying Bituminous Concrete on the Vanavolu-Vankarakunta section of the six-lane Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Economic Corridor. The records include around 29 lane kilometre, the longest distance of Bituminous Concrete laid continuously within 24 hours, and over ten thousand metric tonnes, the highest quantity of Bituminous Concrete laid continuously within 24 hours.

In a social media post, NHAI said the 343-kilometre-long Bengaluru-Kadapa-Vijayawada Economic Corridor will strengthen inter-state connectivity between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It will also support trade, tourism, and regional economic growth through faster, safer, and uninterrupted mobility. The authority said these record-setting achievements reflect the country’s growing capability and commitment to developing world-class National Highway infrastructure.

NHAI said two more Guinness World Record attempts are currently underway on the Vanavolu-Vankarakunta-Odulapalle section of NH-544G.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the achievement reflects the vision of the Government of India and the strong focus on world-class highway infrastructure under Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He praised the engineers, workers, and field teams for their dedication and hard work.
