Nepal’s Terai region to experience intense heatwave, Bhairahawa expected at 41–43°C

The western and central Terai across Nepal will swelter through another day of heatwave conditions today, with Bhairahawa forecast to record the country’s highest temperatures of the day, between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of a heat wave in some districts of Terai till Thursday, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged all concerned to adopt high caution. Border towns as Nepalgunj, Janakpur and Birgunj are all expected to see maximums between 39 and 41 degrees. Meanwhile, Kathmandu Valley sees partly cloudy skies with daytime temperatures between 29 and 31 degrees and a cooler night at 14 to 16 degrees.
