India lifted the inaugural SBI Women’s World Cup Cricket for the Blind after a convincing seven-wicket win over Nepal in Colombo. Chasing a target of 115, India reached 117 for three in 12.1 overs to seal the title in a commanding fashion.

 

 

K. Kumari set the tone with a brisk 42, rotating the strike well and finding gaps regularly. P. Saren kept the momentum going with an unbeaten 44, guiding the chase with calm footwork and steady shot selection. Their efforts ensured India stayed ahead of the required run rate throughout the innings.

 

 

Earlier, Nepal had put up 114 for five, recovering from early setbacks through a steady partnership in the middle overs. But the total proved insufficient against an Indian side that has remained unbeaten through the entire World Cup.

 

 

The victory marks a significant moment for women’s cricket, with India becoming the first team to claim the new global title.
