Nepal President, Army Chief Hold Continuous Talks on Interim PM Appointment; No Consensus Yet

Dialogue with Gen Z representatives, Nepali Army Chief Ashikraj Sigdel and President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel for appointing the Prime Minister of the interim government continued yesterday. Despite continuous dialogue for two days, the days were spent waiting for the conclusion.

President Ramchandra Paudel, in coordination with Nepali Army Chief General Ashok Sigdel, held discussions throughout the day and night in the presence of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki and constitutional scholars. Last night, President and Speaker Devraj Ghimre met and stressed that in the current situation, solutions may be explored within the ambit of the Constitution. So the discussion on whether or not to dissolve the Parliament failed to reach a consensus. Therefore, the discussion is about to begin again today at 9 am.
