Nepal PM Sushila Karki Holds Tripartite Talks with Political Parties and Gen Z on 2026 Elections

A tripartite discussion took place on Wednesday among the representatives of the government, political parties and Gen Z at the call of Prime Minister of Nepal Sushila Karki. At Least 16 representatives from the political parties and 14 from Gen Z participated in the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar. Prime Minister Sushila Karki along with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha, and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun attended the meeting being held for the purpose of enabling upcoming elections.
 
 
On behalf of the Gen Z groups, 13 participants representing ‘Indigenous Gen Z Collective,’ ‘How to Desh Bikas’, and ‘Gen Z Movement Alliance’ are attending the meeting. Political parties like Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), the Rastriya Swatantra Party, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party participated. The key agenda of discussion includes enabling the environment for the election scheduled for 5 March 2026 and building a shared political understanding. The government has been holding several rounds of consultations to ensure the success of the elections.
 
 
Earlier, on October 21, discussions were held between the government and political parties at the invitation of Prime Minister Karki, as well as between Prime Minister Karki and the Gen Z group in the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel.
