Nepal: Arjun Narasingha KC Takes Oath as Senior-Most Member of Nepal’s House of Representatives

Senior-most member of the House of Representatives of Nepal, Arjun Narasingha KC, has taken the oath of office and secrecy. He was elected from the Nepali Congress party. He was administered the oath by President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel at an event held at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, today.
 
Arjun Narsingha KC was elected under the proportional representation system from the Nepali Congress in the House of Representatives election held on March 5. Now, after his oath being administered by the President, KC will administer the oath of office and secrecy to all other 274 members of the House of Representatives on March 26. Until a Speaker is elected, he will also preside over the meetings of the House. Balendra Shah is expected to take oath as new Prime Minister in Sheetal Niwas on Friday, 27 March.
 
In the House of Representatives Elections, 165 members were elected through the first-past-the-post system, while 110 were elected through the proportional representation system. RSP has been the largest party who got huge sweeping mandate in Nepal with 182 seats.
