NDMA, AcSIR and CSIR-NIScPR sign MoU to promote disaster-resilient India

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) and CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a collaborative framework for academic programmers. The partnership aims to integrate science, technology and policy to build a disaster resilient India through structured academic initiatives, interdisciplinary research and public engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, Member of NDMA, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Aswal said NDMA is committed to developing a strong network of academic institutes that will work collaboratively on disaster-related research and academic programmes. Meanwhile, Director of AcSIR, Professor Manoj Kumar Dhar, emphasised that the MoU will open new avenues for the students and researchers to develop innovative, research-based solutions to disaster management challenges. Highlighting the role of science communication, Director of CSIR-NIScPR, Dr. Geetha Vani Rayasam said the partnership will enable the integration of scientific knowledge into policy and public awareness frameworks for disaster management.
