Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu today said the NDA government is committed to carrying forward the ideals of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. On the occasion of Phule’s birth anniversary, the minister paid floral tributes to his statue in Srikakulam town. He said Phule was not confined to any one region or country and that his ideas have been guiding society for over two centuries.

Mr. Rammohan Naidu noted that Phule’s efforts towards social equality and his focus on education for the backward sections remain highly relevant. He also highlighted Phule’s pioneering contribution to women’s education, recalling that he had established schools for girls at a time when it was rare.
