The National Council for Vocational Education and Training(NCVET), functioning under the Ministry of Skill Development, will hold a one-day workshop for the Southern Zone tomorrow in Chennai. The workshop will have members from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry and Lakshadweep. The Council has undertaken a number of initiatives aligning with the National Skills Qualification Framework and bringing out policies on the adoption of qualifications, blended mode of learning, training of trainers, training of assessors, among others.

To expand outreach and deepen stakeholder engagement at the State level, the council is organising zonal capacity building and awareness workshops. The workshops target the NCVET recognition of awarding bodies, building the capacity of existing entities and enabling convergence of synergy and cohesion among State Departments implementing skill development programs.
