NCAP aims to be long-term, time-bound, national-level strategy to address air pollution, says Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav 

The Government has said that the total number of days with Severe AQI levels in Delhi during this winter season was 10 days, as compared to 31 days in 2016-17. In a written reply in Lok Sabha today, the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav said that the Government has launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) in 2019 to provide better air quality for the people living in urban areas. He said that NCAP aims to be a long-term, time-bound, national-level strategy to address air pollution.
 
Mr Yadav said that the government has taken various Steps for controlling air pollution. These include notifying emission standards for more than 80 industries, Waste management rules for solid waste, plastic waste and launching a centralised air quality portal and mobile application named SAMEER for tracking and dissemination of near real-time air quality data.
