Nature of warfare increasingly becoming technology-driven: Union Minister Jitendra Singh

Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today said that the nature of warfare is increasingly becoming technology-driven, with advanced technologies playing a decisive role in strategic preparedness and national security. The Minister was speaking at the Alternate Media Conference in New Delhi. Dr Singh said that sectors such as space, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, and advanced scientific research will play a decisive role in shaping the country’s future security architecture and national development.

He said today India has a rapidly expanding space startup ecosystem, and the country’s space economy is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. The Minister highlighted several programmes, such as Vigyan Jyoti, that are helping young students, particularly girls, to explore opportunities in research and innovation.

He also stressed the need to strengthen India’s scientific base by encouraging young students to identify their aptitude early and pursue diverse fields of research. Referring to the importance of nuclear energy, Dr Singh said that nuclear power provides a clean and dependable source of energy and will be an important component of India’s long-term energy strategy.
