Addressing the gathering, Mr Sonowal asserted that India’s maritime journey, spanning thousands of years, is not just a story of India alone, but a symbol of mutual respect and partnership among all continents. He expressed confidence that the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal would become an international tourist destination and inspire the younger generation to innovate in the maritime sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur stated that the Ministry is committed to preserving India’s rich maritime heritage, which dates back thousands of years.

Mr Sonowal and Dutch Minister Robert Tieman signed a pivotal MoU on maritime collaboration today. Additionally, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed to establish a Green and Digital Sea Corridor, forging cleaner, smarter, and future-ready connectivity between the two nations.
