In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Government is hosting a visit of National Flag Quiz winners to the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen, from the 28th of this month. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in a statement, said that during the visit, 25 young people will get an opportunity to spend 72 hours with the Indian Army. The visit will offer students an opportunity to experience leadership, resilience, and nation-building at one of the most challenging frontiers of the country.
The Ministry informed that a selected group of students are winners of the National Flag Quiz that was held on the MY Bharat platform between 1st and 15th of August. During the visit, the participating students will visit training areas, pay homage at the war memorial, and interact with officers of the Indian Armed Forces. The Indian Army will brief the participants on the operational, geographical, and ecological challenges of serving in Siachen.
