National Federation of the Blind organizes musical evening in New Delhi to mark World Braille Day

The National Federation of the Blind today organized a musical evening in New Delhi to mark the celebration of World Braille Day. World Braille Day is celebrated on January 4th every year to commemorate the birth of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille system. Speaking at the event, the secretary of the department of empowerment of persons with disabilities (Divyangjan), Rajesh Aggarwal, emphasized the need of educating visually impaired persons. He added that now people with visual impairment are taking up their desired course and making a career out of it. He suggested the inclusion of technology in teaching the people with visual impairment.

 

       

General Secretary of the National Federation of the Blind, S K Rungta, said that the program aims to spread awareness and intends to transform the mindset of the people who treat visually impaired persons differently.
