The All India Institute of Ayurveda, Goa, celebrated the 10th National Ayurveda Day at its Dhargal campus today. The Governor of Goa, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, presided over the event. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State for Ayush and Health, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, and Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, Shri Shripad Naik, also graced the occasion. Organised by the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the event highlighted Ayurveda’s role for people and the planet.
On this occasion, dignitaries inaugurated an Integrative Oncology Unit for cancer treatment and launched several initiatives, including the ‘Desh ka Swasthya Parikshan’ campaign, the APTA app, the DRAVYA web portal, and new study materials in Ayurveda. The Director of AIIA thanked the Centre and the State government for their support in building a world-class Ayurveda institute in Goa and underlined its contribution to health services and education. Seed money grants were also distributed to winners of the Smart Hackathon 2024. A Tripartite MOU on integrative oncology research and care among AIIA, Ministry of Ayush and Tata Hospital was signed on this occasion.
