Nagaland continues to reel under floods as many low-lying areas bordering Assam were submerged after a heavy downpour last night. In Dimapur district, Lengrijan, Bor Lengri, and Riverbelt Colony, were particularly hard-hit, with floodwaters inundating homes and roads. Rescue efforts by the State Disaster Response Force are ongoing to evacuate stranded residents to safety. Several parts of Dimapur town also remain waterlogged, significantly disrupting daily life and hindering access to essential services. This afternoon, Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development and Chairman of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board, Moatoshi Longkumer, visited the flood-hit areas along with the Deputy Commissioner and other officials to assess the situation on the ground. In Chümoukedima district, Ward-4 was also submerged, with several damage to property, though no casualties have been confirmed so far.
