The 16th National Voters’ Day, under the theme My India, My Vote. was celebrated in Nagaland. A state-level programme was organised by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, at Kohima.
Speaking at the event, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Abhijit Sinha, said the day serves as a reminder that democracy thrives when every individual has a voice and decisions are taken through discussion and consensus. Emphasising the voter’s pledge, Mr Sinha said the pledge reminds every individual to renew their commitment to democratic values and traditions.
He also congratulated the newly enrolled young voters who received their Elector Photo Identity Cards and urged them to come forward and vote without fear or influence. He also handed over the Best State-level Booth Level Officer and Best Campus Ambassador in the State. Best district BLO awards and EPIC cards to first-time voters were also distributed.
