Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously striving to connect the youth of our country with sports and other youth activities.

Addressing a press conference on the achievements of the sectors of Sports and Youth Affairs in New Delhi, he said that under schemes like Khelo India, the government is focusing on developing rural athletes to a professional level.

Mr Bittu mentioned that under the Khelo India program, more than 1,000 Khelo India centres have been established in 793 districts. The Minister said that India is also making a strong bid to host the Olympics in 2036, and he expressed hope for success in this endeavour. In addition, all kinds of facilities are being provided to the athletes.
