Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has said that India has now emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing a high-level review meeting with district officials at Ahmedabad, the Minister took stock of the progress of various central welfare schemes.

 

Mr Athawale emphasised that the Make in India campaign has triggered a revolution in the manufacturing sector, creating vast new employment opportunities in Gujarat and across the country. During the review meeting, the minister provided necessary guidance to officials on the effective implementation of educational assistance, social security measures, inter-caste marriage incentives, and welfare schemes for the Divyangjan.
