MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh attends community reception in Yangon, underscores ICCR efforts in strengthening cultural ties

The Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, today attended a community reception in Yangon, Myanmar.
 
In a social media post, Mr Singh informed that over 300 guests, comprising the Indian diaspora and friends of India were present on the occasion.
 
On the foundation day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), he underscored the council’s work in strengthening cultural connections with Myanmar, including cultural exchanges, scholarships and Indian music, dance, yoga and Hindi classes at the Mission’s Cultural Centre.
 
Mr Singh also appreciated the valuable contributions of the Indian diaspora, including their enduring links with India. The Minister further highlighted the wide range of diaspora initiatives, including Person of Indian Origin or Overseas Citizen of India schemes, scholarships and Know India Programme of the government of India.
