Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth today said that women like Colonel Sofia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh are the brand ambassadors of Viksit Bharat. The Minister said that women are leading India’s journey towards becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047. Mr Seth said this while addressing 100th raising day celebration of Military Nursing Service in New Delhi. He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his recent episode of Mann ki Baat praised Lieutenant Commanders Dilna K and Rupa A for their eight-month voyage under the Navika Sagar Parikrama II. Quoting Swami Vivekanand’s principle, Mr Seth said that progress of the nation is impossible without the empowerment of women. Highlighting on the nation’s growing military prowess, Mr Seth said that India used its indigenous system during Operation Sindoor. He also said that India surpassed Japan this year to become world’s 4th largest economy. He also said that military nurses are committed to providing nursing support and care to military personnel and their families. Mr Seth also released a commemorative stamp, postcard and diary signifying 100 years of Military Nursing Service.
