Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju today inaugurated the Lok Samvardhan Parv at Raj Ghat in New Delhi. The event, which will culminate on Sunday, showcases the government’s key schemes, programmes, and achievements under the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. It also highlights the continuous efforts of the government towards the economic empowerment of minority communities, especially artisans and traditional craftspeople.
Talking to the media, Mr Rijiju said, the workers of the village have a lot of talent, and the platform has been created to bring their handmade art to the market. He added that the event will also help the mobility of the products from different states to one another.
Apart from highlighting the government’s various initiatives, the event also showcases an exhibition-cum-sale of traditional art and handicrafts, such as Laakh Bangles, Wooden Paintings, Blue Pottery, Embroidery, Banarasi Brocade, Phulkari, Leather Crafts, among others. Besides, the event will also feature live cultural performances by folk artists as well as artisans and culinary experts from various parts of the country
