The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports today organised the nationwide Nari Shakti Youth Parliament through the Mera Yuva Bharat platform. The initiative was conducted simultaneously across 17 zones, bringing together over 7 thousand young women in an exercise of structured democratic participation and youth-led policy dialogue.
It brought together young women from diverse academic, social, and regional backgrounds, creating a credible and structured platform for deliberation on issues central to the country’s democratic and developmental journey.
The session culminated with the adoption of a formal resolution across all 17 zones, collectively endorsing the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which proposes to expand the strength of the Lok Sabha from 543 to 816 seats, with 33 per cent reservation for women.
