Ministry of Tribal Affairs hosts capacity-building workshop for tribal homestay owners in New Delhi

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in collaboration with the India Tourism Development Corporation, organised a Capacity Building Workshop for Tribal Homestay Owners in New Delhi yesterday. The Ministry informed that the workshop brought together tribal homestay owners and their teams from Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. It added that the workshop underscored the Government’s commitment in promoting community-led sustainable tourism as a key driver of tribal livelihood enhancement.

These initiatives include PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan, Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes and Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. These Schemes are to transform tribal livelihoods through Community tourism; tribal Homestays emerge as Growth Engines for inclusive development and cultural preservation. The workshop reflects a broader national vision to promote inclusive tourism growth, Strengthen local livelihoods in tribal regions, encourage cultural preservation through economic empowerment and enhance last-mile delivery of welfare schemes.
