Ministry of Textiles organises “The Master Creation 2.0” to celebrate India’s finest master craftspersons

The Ministry of Textiles is organising “The Master Creation 2.0”, a Grand Showcase of India’s finest Handicrafts at Dilli Haat in New Delhi. The event aims to celebrate and showcase the artistic excellence of India’s finest master craftspersons, awarded with Padma Shri, Shilp Guru, Sant Kabir Award and  National Award.

 

The event features stalls featuring handicrafts and artisan products across the country. The event will continue till the 15th of this month. The Secretary of the Textiles Ministry, Neelam Shami Rao, visited the venue and interacted with exhibitors yesterday. On the occasion, the Secretary appreciated artisans and provided them knowledge needed to enhance their business and secure financial independence.  

 
 
 
The Textiles Ministry further informed that the event will serve as a vital platform for bringing artisans directly in touch with customers and supporting livelihoods connected to the handicraft sector. Talking exclusively with the Akashvani News, Padma Shri Award winner and a resident of Patna in Bihar, Bowa Devi said that she has been working since the age of 12 and has set up a stall of Mithila paintings at the exhibition.
