Ministry of Mines Issues Guidelines for Rs 1,500 Crore Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive Scheme

The Ministry of Mines has issued detailed guidelines for the fifteen-hundred-crore-rupees incentive scheme for the promotion of critical mineral recycling.

The scheme aims to develop the nation’s recycling capacity for the recovery and production of critical minerals from secondary sources such as e-waste, spent lithium-ion batteries, and other scrap materials.

The guidelines outline the scheme’s modalities, including methodology for incentive allocation, procedures for application and evaluation, as well as mechanisms for institutional oversight and performance review.

The scheme has provision for supporting both large and small recyclers, including start-ups in setting up new facilities or expanding existing ones. The application window to avail benefits will remain open for six months till 1st of April next year.
