The Ministry of Jal Shakti will host the World Water Day Conclave 2026 on the 23rd of this month in New Delhi. Union Minister of Jal Shakti C R Paatil will attend the inaugural session of the conclave along with senior representatives from government and industry.

 

The Ministry said that the conclave themed Industry for Water will serve as a national platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration for sustainable water management. It added that the conference will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, startups, MSMEs, and young innovators to co-create scalable, technology-driven solutions.

 

The event will witness participation from over seven hundred delegates across sectors. It will also feature the felicitation of Jal Shakti Hackathon winners, recognising innovative and impactful solutions in the water sector. The Ministry further said that the conference is being held to observe World Water Day, which is celebrated globally on 22nd of March. 

 

The United Nations General Assembly designated 22nd March as World Water Day. The day is observed annually since 1993 to raise awareness about the 2.1 billion people living without access to safe water.
