Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal concluded his New Zealand visit after meeting with his counterpart, Todd McClay. In a social media post, the Minister today said that the 4th Round of India-New Zealand FTA negotiations was focused on goods market access, services, economic and technical cooperation, and investment opportunities.
Mr. Goyal informed that his visit included multiple events and meetings with business leaders from both countries, reflecting the strong people-to-people and cultural ties between India and New Zealand. The Minister further expressed hope for a balanced, comprehensive and mutually beneficial agreement, in line with the growing strategic and economic convergence between the two nations.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the visit of the Minister underscored New Zealand’s emerging position as a strategic partner in India’s growth journey. It added that the visit reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening bilateral economic linkages and fostering long-term cooperation with New Zealand.
