Minister of State Jitendra Singh, CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurate National Conference on District Development in Bihar

In Bihar, a two-day National Conference on Holistic Development of Districts will be held in Patna beginning today. Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the conference and deliver the inaugural address this morning.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), in collaboration with the Government of Bihar, is organising the event. Over 20 speakers, including District Collectors, District Magistrates, and senior officials from State governments and the Centre, will present award-winning best practices. The aim of the conference is to disseminate innovative governance practices adopted by districts across the country.

The conference will showcase governance models that have received recognition under the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.
It will feature presentations of initiatives that were awarded or shortlisted under the PM’s Awards in 2023 and 2024. The event will highlight how these ideas have translated into results for the holistic development of districts, alongside innovations in governance and in the Bihar Government.
During the conference, discussions will cover multiple themes such as Holistic Development, Digital Governance, Health, Education, Rural Transformation, and Public Service Delivery.

The conference is expected to be attended by more than 300 delegates from across India, including senior administrators, domain experts, and practitioners in public administration.
