Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today said that sustained collaboration among all stakeholders will help to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach every worker across the country.
Dr Mandaviya said this while delivering opening remarks on a two-day National Conference of Labour and Employment and Industry Ministers and Secretaries of States and Union Territories in New Delhi. He highlighted that citizens are at the heart of every policy, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
Stressing on the importance of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, Dr Mandaviya urged states to align their employment programmes with this national mission for maximum synergy and impact. The Minister set the tone for the conference by focusing on implementation and action. The Minister detailed the structure of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana to facilitate formalisation and enhance social security, and called for active state collaboration to ensure its success.
Minister of state for Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, said that the transformative journey of India’s development is driven by a governance model rooted in equity and transparency. She urged all states to actively lead outreach, align their programmes, and leverage digital platforms like e-Shram and National Career Services to ensure that no worker is left behind in the nation’s march towards a Viksit Bharat.
The two-day conference aims to accelerate the implementation of key labour policies and initiatives, decent employment generation, and social security initiatives. On the occasion, the Minister also launched the Digital Labour Chowk application for building and other construction workers (BOCW) and a portal for collection of online BOCW Cess. The conference also saw discussions on the draft Private Placement Agency (Regulation) Act, and on the draft National Labour and Employment Policy.
