Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today emphasised that judicious use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be a boon for healthcare. Addressing the Seventh Confederation of Indian Industry Pharma and Life Science Summit 2025 in New Delhi, Mr Singh also underscored the government’s strong collaboration with the private sector in emerging biotechnology and gene therapy projects. He said that the shift towards preventive healthcare has improved India’s global recognition in biomanufacturing and medical devices.
Dr Singh added that exporting preventive healthcare has brought a complete 360 transformation, positioning India as a serious healthcare provider. He highlighted that India was once primarily retailers, but now the nation is creating innovations of its own. The Minister noted that India’s pharma market has grown sharply in value and the government has launched a large research and development fund to support deep- tech projects.
