In Tamil Nadu, several migrant worker families from Bihar are heading back to their hometowns to celebrate Chhath Puja. Most of them work in the construction sector and live in small cubicle houses near their worksites in Chennai and other cities.

Through special trains from Bengaluru and Chennai to take the workers home for the three-day celebration. Hundreds of them are also employed in Tirupur’s textile industries. Their children study in local schools to access better education.

Meanwhile, the Bihar Chaupal Association in Chennai is planning to celebrate Chhath Puja locally as well, with special prayers to be performed at Marina Beach.
