The Ministry of Home Affairs will present its tableau showcasing the nationwide implementation of the Naveen Nyaya Sanhitas at the Republic Day Parade this year. The tableau will highlight the transformative reforms introduced through the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which came into force on 1st July 2024. In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs highlighted that these landmark laws replace colonial-era legislation and reflect the nation’s shift from a punishment-based system to an Indian philosophy of justice. It added that the tableau will showcase the country’s transition to a modern, technology-driven, time-bound, and citizen-centric justice system. The tableau highlighted that it includes e-Sakshya for digital evidence, the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System, e-Summon, virtual court processes, and integrated criminal justice systems linking police, forensics, courts, and prisons.
