In Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall and possible flash floods in several districts over the coming days.

Light to moderate rain is expected across most areas till tomorrow, with heavy showers likely in Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, and Kathua. Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, and parts of Kashmir may also see heavy rain with gusty winds. From Wednesday, the weather will be mostly hot and humid, with brief thunderstorms at a few places. Isolated heavy rain is possible in Jammu, Kathua, and Samba on the night of August 22.

The MeT department has warned of cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones during this period. People are urged to stay away from water bodies and travellers are advised to plan with caution. Authorities have been asked to stay alert and prepared.
