In the Men’s Hockey India League (HIL), Arshdeep Singh’s brilliant brace led Hyderabad Toofans marks a commanding 3-1 win against UP Rudras at Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela, last night. Gonzalo Peillat opened the scoring for the Toofans, while Jobanpreet Singh scored the lone goal for the Rudras.
Despite the Rudras’ spirited fightback, Arshdeep sealed the win with a late goal off a slick team move.
In another clash of the day, Team Gonasika defeated Tamil Nadu Dragons 4-2 in a Pool B clash. Gonasika’s goals came from Araijeet Hundal, Jack Waller, Tim Howard, and Nikkin Thimmaiah, while Amit Rohidas and Tom Craig scored for the Dragons.
Despite the loss, Tamil Nadu Dragons remain atop the points table with 17 points, while Gonasika stays in seventh with 10 points.
In the Women’s Hockey India League, JSW Soorma Hockey Club will face Odisha Warriors in the title clash in Ranchi this evening. The match is schedule to begin at 06:00PM IST.
