The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, or MEITY, has set up a high-level committee to review and improve the rules related to DigiLocker.
According to the Ministry, the committee will examine the existing Digital Locker rules to ensure they match the current technology and legal environment.
It will also prepare a future roadmap for expanding the DigiLocker system, including plans for Entity Locker services, wider ecosystem participation and possible commercialisation.
The committee will be headed by former MEITY Secretary Ajay Sawhney. It will include legal experts, technology specialists and representatives from the industry.
