Massive Pilgrim Rush at Mata Vaishno Devi on Auspicious Ashtami

In Jammu and Kashmir, the sacred cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi atop Trikuta Hills in Reasi district has witnessed a massive turnout of pilgrims during the ongoing Navratri festival, with over 1.50 lakh devotees having paid obeisance since the commencement of the nine-day celebrations. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that on the auspicious occasion of Ashtami, the holy shrine recorded an exceptionally high influx of worshippers. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple premises from the early hours of the morning, offering prayers and seeking the divine blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. Pilgrims, hailing from different parts of the country, undertook the spiritual journey on foot, on ponies, and through ropeway services, reflecting the unshakable faith and devotion associated with the revered shrine. The temple complex and the traditional route to Bhawan were beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, adding to the festive spirit. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the yatra. Additional staff and volunteers have been deployed to manage the rush, while round-the-clock facilities including medical aid, sanitation, drinking water, and crowd control measures are in place for the convenience of the pilgrims
