Marine Exports Grow Nearly 20% in Seven Months: Union Minister Piyush Goyal

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal today said that despite the global uncertainties, India has registered nearly 20 per cent growth in the Marine sector in the last 7 months, and ensured that the government is continuously working to diversify the fish export to maximum growth. Replying to the question hours in Lok Sabha, the Minister said this growth has been achieved despite anti-dumping duties imposed by certain countries on India’s fish export establishments. Mr Goyal informed that around 102 marine fish export establishments have been successfully registered in the European Union, and 25 such establishments have been approved by Russia.

He said many more establishments are under the registration process, and this will provide a huge avenue for growth.  On another question over the export promotion, he said the government has recently launched the ‘NIRYAT DISHA scheme ‘, with a total outlay of 25000 crore rupees, which focuses on non-financial support to boost India’s export competitiveness. Niryat Disha is the sub-scheme under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM), which got the cabinet approval in November 2025, to focus on non-financial enablers that enhance market readiness and competitiveness, including export quality and compliance support. It also provides assistance for international branding, packaging, and trade intelligence and capacity-building initiatives.
