In the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, Maoist commander Mallesh of the North Bastar Division Committee and a member, Ranu Podiyam, surrendered before the police today.
Superintendent of Police Nikhil Rakhecha said that Maoist commander Mallesh laid down arms along with an AK-47 rifle at the Chhotebethiya camp. He had been active for a long time in the Kanker and Narayanpur districts.
