Manipur Celebrates Krishna Janmashtami with Devotion and Cultural Events

In Manipur, Krishna Janmasthami is being celebrated across the State, marking the birthday celebration for Lord Krishna.
The main celebration is being held at Shri Shri Govindajee Temple and ISKON Mandir, both located in Imphal. Besides, the celebration was held at Gopinath Mandir in the Bishnupur district in a grand manner. A large number of devotees visit these temples to offer prayer to Lord Krishna today from early morning. The celebration at the temples of Imphal will continue till late night. 
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today inaugurated a seminar on ‘Krishna Tattva- Character Building’ organised by ISKCON Temple Imphal, which has been organised on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. He also released a special souvenir and launched the official website of ISKCON. 
 
 
 
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Governor said that qualities like kindness, purity, non-violence and compassion should guide daily living, especially at a time when globalisation and technology bring new challenges. Shri Bhalla further said that youth should draw strength from the teachings of Lord Krishna to build moral strength and leadership.
The Governor also inspected the stalls, many of which featured products made by Internally Displaced Persons
