Maharashtra Sanctions ₹3,258 Crore Relief for 33 Lakh Rain-Hit Farmers

The Maharashtra government has approved 3,258 crore rupees in financial assistance for more than 33 lakh farmers across 23 districts affected by heavy rains and floods in September 2025. The decision was announced by Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makrand Jadhav-Patil, who said, the aid covers crop losses across 27.59 lakh hectares of farmland. Minister Makrand Jadhav-Patil added that in the past week alone, aid worth nearly 5,000 crore rupees has been sanctioned, taking the total relief approved for this year’s kharif season to around 7,500 crore rupees. The financial assistance will benefit farmers in Nagpur, Amravati, Pune, Nashik, and Konkan divisions, with the highest allocation of 1,474 crore rupees for the Nashik division.
