On the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, tributes were paid across Maharashtra, and the day was observed as Social Justice Day. Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan offered floral tributes to a portrait of Shahu Maharaj at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairperson Prof. Ram Shinde, Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, and Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Dr. Neelam Gorhe also paid floral tributes at his statue on the Vidhan Bhavan premises. In Kolhapur, the birthplace of Shahu Maharaj, several dignitaries gathered to pay homage.
