Maharashtra Mandates UDID Card for All Persons with Disabilities for Government Benefits

The Maharashtra government has made the Unique Disability ID (UDID) card, mandatory for all persons with disabilities in all government offices and departments from 9th Oct 2025. All government departments have been asked to complete document verification by January 2026. The card will be essential for availing reservations, promotions and various government benefits.
 
The information was given in the assembly by Minister for OBC & Bahujan Welfare, Atul Save, today. The government has also instructed all district hospitals to keep at least two days a week reserved for disability certificate verification. UDID guidelines are framed by the Central Government, and the State will forward necessary recommendations to the Centre.
